Measures to prevent community infections:

Persons who had been to mainland China in the past 14 days must quarantined at home for 14 days from the day of arrival in Singapore; these people should closely monitor their health condition for fever &/or respiratory symptoms such as cough or breathlessness and seek prompt medical treatment when necessary.

A person with clinical signs and symptoms suggestive of pneumonia or severe respiratory infection with breathlessness (i.e. fever, cough, powerless, acute respiratory symptoms) and travelled to mainland China within 14 days before onset of illness OR had Closed Contact with a case of VOVID-19 novel coronavirus infection should seek immediate medical attention at a nearest General Practitioner (GP) Clinic.

Definition of Closed Contact:

  • Anyone who provided care for the patient, including a health care worker of family member, or who had other similar close physical contact;
  • Anyone who stayed (e.g. household members) at the same place as a case.

Under current period of preventing community infections:

Any patient with fever, chills, powerless, cough, breathlessness, runny nose, sneeze, sore throat, chest discomfort, chest pain etc., even though there is no record of going abroad or contact history, should promptly proceed to the nearest clinic for medical treatment and evaluation.
